Introduction

Packet radio, also known as AX.25, is a specific type of DigitalAmateurRadio. Packet radio works somewhat like the Internet in that it splits communications into discrete packets, performs error checking on these packets, automatically requests retransmision of packets that arrived with errors, and thus provides a reliable and error-free communication channel.



In addition, packet radio nodes (something like repeaters) can be chained together to let people hop from place to place geographically. The cost of setting up a node is low, since packet is a frequency-sharing technology, and a standard 2m rig will do.

You can bounce clusters of packets off of random meter trails that are overhead even during the day in intervals from seconds to minutes, establishing an uncensorable, long range, if slow, comm system. Detecting the ionization trail with a transmitter/receiver is petty easy to do, hook it up to transmit during time that you have an active ion trail to bounce the signal over and hold for the next.

If you have knowledge of equipment and software for the ability to send encrypted messages over Ham Radio (which I know exists and have had retailer demo for us at our Arizona Breakfast Club https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFX7RyCJfeA



But you can tell from his responses that many in the Ham Radio community are very proud of their Federal Government license and are not advocates for the "Against All Flags" attitude of Private and Free Speech using radio waves.



The existence of the equipment and software for what we want to do is available and can be purchased without license... for now, but I need a list of goodies available and tutoring on their use.



In the end we will be purchasing and assembling the equipment and demoing its use in an instructional video. The Pirate Box (WiFi) and FM transmitters will also be included in this series. What people do with their own equipment and knowledge is not my concern,... we are just educating people of possibilities.



Now that we have Blockchain and IPFS https://ipfs.io/ options available to share data that isn't going anywhere, I'm willing to start purchasing supplies and videoing demos.



If you can help with this it would push this build closer to the top of the list.

That is a great link! I was going from memory on the Radio Show but this is a much fuller explanation. Thank you.



I'm looking to assemble 2 such setups so that I can demonstrate the tech. Any research on supplies would speed up the process.

I am glad you liked the link! This winter I am going to play around more with radio goodies. It is all a learning process and anything could possibly be a supply. No need to encrypt anything. Shit, two people standing next to each other, speaking English, and they still confuse themselves. I hope the radio project goes well for you. I will check the show and listen for updates.

Have you looked into all the various existing Open Source projects and recent advancements in SDR equipment?

If you really wanna geek out on autonomous communication and mesh grids, I can recommend a few IRC channels out there, full of braniacs.

Bob and I are going to be doing "Hacker Builds" of various tech (Solar Generators - GeoDomes - Crypto Rigs - Water Purification Equipment - Secure Communication rigs - FM Transmitters etc.) over the months coming. Nicer weather is almost here.



Whatever research you can share on Packet Radio Builds would be put to use by us in the making of a demo video of classes with fellow builders.



Other builds are already researched and supplies obtained, a list of things and information/videos about Packet Radio would push the project towards the top of the list. Soooo, those that are interested in our tackling this project can help get it done earlier with some shared research.

Do you remember the blockbuster hit film The Matrix that was released in 1999? You may not know this, but it has deep spiritual implications concerning the times we are living in and Bible prophecy.
