This is a cool futuristic idea. http://www.solarroadways.com/About/Journey

What I want to do is take these solar glass blocks and surface a transcontinental ship with it. I know a huge solar ship has all ready been built, but I  mean to use the very hard solar blocks to surface the ship at a  smaller scale.

Make charging and storage available every 10 miles so you can use the time the road is empty constructively!
