It'll probably have to be multiple pieces, since there's no real flat surface. I don't think that it should necessarily be a design consideration in blender that it will be 3D printed, we can break up the model afterwards. There are 3D printer types that would be able to print it with less regard to...

Do we not have a mesh network, because we are lazy?? Come on, kids. Let's do this!! I hear you. I've spent quite a bit of time talking about mesh, but little progress. I don't know if it's lazy or just lack of the perception of immediate need, however if we wait until we need it, it may be too late...
