The 'evidence' of The Code shows itself with there being three distinct classes of individuals:



Pirate



Crew



Captain



A pirate is one who has no commitment on board ship, be they Passenger or Marauder.



Crew are those who have committed themselves into a voluntary agreement with a Captain, who owns the ship.



Captains are committed to the welfare of their Passengers and Crew.

Being that I choose to live straight edge, no tobacco, no alcohol, no drugs, in chronic daily pain, performing heavy physical labor daily to avoid atrophy, I don't see common ground in rhetoric of "magical, autopilot, transmute, crazy etc."  Nod to me when you get serious.

Reality is where conflicts manifest and through self-reflection of reality we can come to the cause of the conflict. Is that a fair statement?

If faith is rejected, in all forms, is the universe dead?

Do you know the difference between sophistry and philosophy?  Philosopher means lover of truth.  Sophistry sounds like philosophy but isn't, it's simply a well crafted agrgument or at least attempts to posture as an argument.  Life is existence.  Form is the art of living.  I am not my body.  I am no"thing".  I have never found any evidence to suggest that everlasting life is avoidable.  In my perception the definition of hell would be to lie on my death bed and arise to discover myself as anything but consciousness devoid of matter.  



Regarding your inquiry of faith and universe I'll answer per my own underlying assumptions wrapped in a paradigm which I hold in rejection of faith, meaning I could be completely wrong and don't care.  Here is my answer:  "It is my personal observation that consciousness does not happen because of biology, rather consciousness happens despite of biology. "  I have read that knowing the truth doesn't matter, only the truth matters.   If infinity exists then surely truth is infinite.  Faith in science is not science.  It follows that while inhabiting human lifeform and not knowing infinite truth doesn't matter, because only the truth matters.  Consider the phenomenon of black holes, specifically the event horizon where all matter is stripped yet information of everything that passes into the hole may be recorded upon the event horizon.  This speaks to "purpose" and in the absence of a unification theory an individual may choose to reject admitting what they do not know in favor of a popular leap of faith.  The leap of faith is a rejection of consciousness.  Life is existence.  Do you prefer sophistry to philosophy?  If so why?  Base observation of your posts reveals diminished purpose(s).  Were you not born under punches?

Is ego always dysfunctional?

I would think an ego could be in a state of dysfunction, but it would have some purpose. Or is it like the tonsils, cut it out!!! Hahaha

The ego is a biological mechanism of the mind.  The ego is not real, but it wants to be real.  Ego is just story, and can't be real.  Ego-misidentification is the core cause of mankind's suffering.  Thoughts are autonomic like breathing.  To say "I think" is as saying "I breathe".  The role of true self is to study thoughts as third person, evaluate and either validate or invalidate thoughts.  You are not your thoughts.  The ego manufactures thoughts constantly until a conscious person kills the ego and true self arises.  However the human life-form always resurrects the ego automatically, and the cycle repeats until the inevitable rescue of death.  Consciousness does not require beliefs or even thoughts.  Life is existence.  Form is the art of living.  I am inclined to kill my ego whenever I recognize it.  I am not a story.  I am no-"thing".  I simply "am".  True self arises as ego dies.  Ego is the enemy.  Enlightenment can not be withheld or given away.  It can only be accepted from within.  This is the original state from birth.  As Eckhart Tolle explains introducing his work, nothing he has to say is anything you don't already know, however you may discover what you have forgotten.  



The "purpose" of ego as you hope to cling to is ego-misidentification.  If you have succumbed to the indoctrination(s) you are conditioned to maintain a relationship with the story you have built in your head about who you are.  The knee-jerk reaction of ego when challenged is fear and hostility.  People who are densely suffering from ego-misidentification can feel like they are dying when they start to perceive that the story isn't real.  For if the story isn't real then maybe they aren't real.  When I used to drink I used to act quite cruel especially toward role models of violent society such as policemen.  I would challenge their ego with philosophy illuminating cognitive dissonance etc simply because they were so vulnerable.  I tell you this so that you may know the enemy (ego), because ego-misidentification manifests unconscious behavior which has serious consequences in the real world.  For me going "above the grid" is an admission that misanthropy is rational.  Enlightenment can not be withheld or given away.  To see the enemy is to leave it.  Altruism remains the philosophy of death.

I contend that a Captain has the right to give the old heave-ho to any Crewman, and no Crewman has the right to remove a Captain from his boat. Number five of the Code does not account for this exception, and I am bringing this discrepancy up in the forum here before I put out a call for others to sail with me.

The code is based in Aristotelian Philosophy, and in this case expresses the non-aggression principle through creative license modeling the concept "voluntaryism".  I only maintain voluntary relationships.  I see no request for invalid philosophy in the code.  The absence of evidence for one case does not serve as evidence for an opposite case.  That would be known as an argument from ignorance; a leap of faith in exact proportion from both cases, while equitable is devoid of utility.  I reject faith in all forms.  There are no conflicts in reality, if you think you have discovered a conflict in reality then examine your underlying assumptions, it is there you may find your error.  Reality is not vulnerable to interpretation.  Voluntaryism is not a stacked deck.  Initiation of aggression is enemy of the code, as surely as voluntaryism is the code.  



I'm nobody's Captain.

There is never dialogue (flow of meaning) between ego and true self, as true self arises as ego dies.  



Ego is always dysfunctional, collective ego is enhanced dysfunction.  



It appears the "habit" Doug's ego is identifying in story as "money", speaks to the concept of "Pain-body" explained by Eckhart Tolle.  Ego is not real, it is story.  True self is not "habitual".

I don't harbor any desires other than to actually start talking about all the affects of money, not just the ones wanting to be used to mold a crypto-currency.

Have you stated that you harbor no desire for freedom?  If so perhaps the mystery of your rhetoric about "fighting" weakens.  Do you know the difference between sophistry and philosophy?  Ayn Rand stated that "no valid philosophy can't be practiced to the nth degree" and then embraced the mixed economy model which she identified correctly as "socialism not capitalism", and then further devolved to collect social security.  Such is the mark of sophistry, not philosophy.  Do you wish to share the "talk" of sophistry or share the "dialogue" of philosophy?  I only have time for the latter.  Minarchism is not founded in valid philosophy, rather it clings to a rotten foundation namely the cult of statism.  All statist positions are cowardice.  Do the affects/effects of money you wish to talk about translate to the cowardice of statists?  If so perhaps you may consider the USA role in Ukraine, with an eye toward the non-elected committee members (including Joe Biden's son in charge of fracking in Ukraine) running Ukraine, especially given the indictment against Gates and Manafort this morning.  Oh, be sure not to neglect making inquiry on "Right Sector" aggression.  If any of this wets your appetite, perhaps you might spin up a copy of Amebix "Sonic Mass" to solidify the reality against knee-jerk entertainment request dysfunction of ego.  Works for me.  But then, I'm committed to the pursuit of infinite truth.  



By the way, I hate that word "we".  Anarcho-capitalism or else.  You already have the "else".

Misanthropy is rational.  I am not an altruist, therefore I do not seek the conversion of others, neither am I vulnerable to conversion by others.  I live straight edge, no tobacco, no alcohol and no drugs.  For many years I've lived by my motto "anarcho-capitalism or else".  I will speak to common ground where I recognize it.  I recognize that I own myself and nobody else, such is the mark of virtue.  



For my money, the album "Veracity" by Backwordz has some of the best lyrics of freedom in print.
